SUCCESS STORY – MICHEAL C.
My name is Micheal C. Since joining the Sutherland Team, I have been afforded the opportunity to work with two very large Telecommunications Companies. This was my first business process outsourcing experience and came in with minimal management experience. Immediately after training I was offered a Team Lead position and gained a wealth of experience working with associates and managing employee production. With this experience and some mentoring from various members of our management and operations team I was then prepared to take on a Supervisor position about five months later.
It has now been more than 3 years since joining the SGS team and I have grown into a valuable piece of the company. I have been given the opportunity to launch and work on both AT&T Bronze SW and the TELUS programs. I look forward to continuing my career here with Sutherland and helping others achieve their personal career goals. SUCCESS STORY – GORDON N.
My name is Gordon N, and I have been with Sutherland since Jan 26, 2004. I had no idea what a BPO was but was welcomed with open arms when I applied for a job. Since joining Sutherland I have had many opportunities to learn new things, and experience new adventures. I have worked on 8 different programs and have held many diverse positions. I have had the good fortune of travelling to many of our different geographies as well as client offices. Meeting many people both at Sutherland, and our many varied clients, has given me the ability to expand my understanding of our business world, and the many different functions that can be performed within the BPO industry. I have been able to expand my horizons by working for a global company.
SUCCESS STORY - LEO C.
My name is Leo C. During my two and a half years working with Sutherland Global Services, I’ve been given many opportunities to advance and improve myself. I started out on the phones providing technical support and making sales. In three months time, I was promoted to a senior level of support. Twenty-four days afterwards, I was quickly promoted to training specialist where I branched off into more than four programs and departments, which included their launches.
My responsibilities quickly evolved to client/vendor liaison that afforded me the luxury and responsibility of representing SGS Windsor at other global sites; allowing me to travel to places like Sault Ste. Marie to Davao, Philippines. I have also been given the honour of being on the ground floor of starting one of Sutherland’s most successful Work at Home programs; A program that has taken the top ranking amongst all centers.
Today, I am an E-Learning Specialist and Web Developer. I work with Apprentices and with the community. I also lead a team and get to apply my skills and creativity to unique problems. SGS continues to open doors for me. I just need to find the time to walk through them all.
SUCCESS STORY – TAMMY J.
My name is Tammy J. and I have been with Sutherland for 3 years. I started with Sutherland as an associate and learned many things. The management taught me that this was a job where you could follow your interests, demonstrate your capabilities and grow with the company. I live 30 miles outside the city but have always managed to be at work on time. I have moved upthrough the ranks becoming a quality team member, S.M.E. (Systems Matter Expert) while still maintaining my efficiency scores, CAP training, and have recently been promoted to a Supervisor overseeing 20 associates. The skills that I have gained while working here are teamwork, responsibility, and leadership. I feel that Sutherland helped me advance within the company.
SUCCESS STORY – MARA. M
My name is Mara M. I moved to Sault Ste Marie from Toronto over 2 years ago after my boyfriend took a position at Essar Steel. I joined Sutherland as an associate to have a job and now feel I can make a career here. I have made great friends and have a lot of fun working with people in all the campaigns and corporate departments. There are many opportunities for me here and I look forward to seeing what the future brings.
My Supervisor is a great person and my team mates have become my friends. I have had personal and professional growth opportunities on my Inbound Technical Support campaign, such as experience working on computer systems, databases and spreadsheets being accountable to clients and customers with deadlines and targets working in an IT related industry with PC security
Also, I have been provided Leadership training and Career Advancement Training that I have found motivating and very interesting. Sutherland Global Services is a great place to work.
